I am offering a New Year's Special for all new contracts signed and paid before January 31, 2011. This will help those struggling with finanaces and also give students an incentive to get tutoring sooner rather than later.

There will be SAT and ACT testing done in Greenville through the first week of June 2011. I work on Saturday mornings usually for my high school college board clients.
A college board exam is a very long and taxing test, and you must prepare early to do well on it. I will be asking you to get the Princeton Review version for your study quide as it is the best. Deadline Week for College Course Help and Nov. 6 SAT Test Date

This week concludes the cut-off for SAT preps for the next SAT test date in Spartanburg (and Greenville, SC). If you wish to work with me during the week, rather than on Saturdays, you need to start before Friday, Oct. 15. Please see my prior post for a full schedule of test dates for SAT and ACT with registrations and dead-lines for my services to prepare you.

I am including a site recommended by a colleague for searching online college degree programs. This is starting to be a more economical way to "attend" college for some High School Graduates.

Hope to assist some of you for both undergraduate and graduate school entrance exams soon! Also, if you want help with your semester courses in college, this is the last week to fit in an 8-week contract for help. Don't delay and drop out, get help now and save yourself the tuition and time already invested in your college course.

Last SAT/ACT Test Date 8 May

Dear Juniors and Seniors in High School in the Upstate of SC,

Greenville will be the location on May 8 for the last of the SAT and ACT exams until September of 2010. If you plan on taking this last exam of the academic year, don't delay in contacting me at Academics Upward Tutoring.

You will need to arrange to have your Saturdays free if you are in a private or public school or two evenings during the school week. It takes 12 contact hours before your exam date to prepare for either of these college board exams. Vocabulary is a must and reading comprehension will also need attention as most students do not know the techniques for getting through these sections. I can help!

I am especially good at preparing you for the math sections for both exams and the science sections for the ACT. These seem to be the most frequent areas of need for students preparing to take their entrance exams.

If you are a junior, I urge you to take this exam either in May or the first date in the Fall semester. That way, you have time to retake it if you did not score well. It is always a good idea to get a coach like myself before attempting your exam, but sometimes experience has to teach you this lesson.

Blessings at Easter,
Dr. Linda B. Greer

The heat is on and it's time to analyze that GPA for entrance requirements to colleges and universities. If you are struggling to do well in your last semester of High School, I highly recommend you hire a tutor to help you in passing all of your courses. Nothing is more humiliating than having to take summer school and not graduating with your fellow classmates.

Firstly, you need to realize your time is limited in pulling up your grades. The shortest High School contract I use is 12 weeks in length. Right now we are about 6 weeks into your last sememster. If you sign up now for assistance, you won't have to double up the last week or so for completing your contract and preparing for your final exam.

Don't delay in telling your parents you are struggling. The longer you wait, the further behind and more discouraged you will become. Get help now with a pro who has over 21 years experience in assisting clients meet their educational goals!

Subjects I can help you with are: Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, and any AP Math classes.

If you are not satisfied with your SAT/ACT scores, there are still dates available to test in the Greenville area. You need to start on Saturday mornings (9 to noon) with my help 5 weeks before your test date in order to prepare for your college board exam.

The end of May is only 14 weeks away, so be proactive in your learning and take charge. Call me at 278-2018 and set an appointment to finish this race well!

Senioritis and College Board Exams

Dear Seniors in High School,

Your future is dawning before you rapidly. Don't panic and don't slow down on the home stretch. It's your last semester to prove you can study more efficiently, learn more, and be prepared to be an independent learner in college. Mom and Dad aren't going to ask you next Fall if you've done all your work before you go out with your friends. Only your trained student's conscience will tell you the correct thing to do.

If you aren't satisified with your SAT scores currently, then it's time to hire a pro and get in some great practice. If you were trying to be a pro golfer, you'd hire a retired pro coach or trainer, wouldn't you? Academics Upward Tutoring has a great track record for improving SAT and ACT scores for college entrance requirements. With over twenty years of experience, your senioritis jitters can be overcome and you can still get an acceptance into the college of your choice.

It is, however, important to schedule five weeks before you sit for the real exam. Saturday mornings for four weeks before your Saturday exam will be needed to meet with Dr. Greer, take practice exams, and do homework exercises to increase your speed and selectivity in answering questions. Dr. Greer gives tips on test-taking strategies, memory techniques, organization skills, and process of eliminating distractors. Your vocabulary will be increased three-fold for the reading, essay, and grammar sections for the SAT.

Give AUT a phone call and schedule your appointment if you live in the Upstate of South Carolina: 864-542-7622 or mailto:drgreer@charter.net .
